Select destination if shipping from Georgia or Florida
IMPORTANT! Find the Freight All Kinds (FAK) commodity definition in this link. If you request a quote for an excluded commodity, then we must to reconfirm it upon receipt your quote request done online for FAK.
CONSIDER AN ALTERNATIVE (especially if you are moving overseas or shipping household goods or personal effects not for sale): Even if you have cargo sufficient to fill a 20-foot sea freight container, we still recommend you to compare FCL to our Economy LCL sea freight service. In certain circumstances you may find that using our Economy LCL ocean freight service would be more convenient and cost-effective. For example, when you self-deliver boxed cargo to an ocean freight carrier’s shipping terminal, you eliminate container pre/on-carriage (container inland trucking) and waiting charges. Also you are not obligated on the sea freight container return to ocean freight carrier's destination container yard.
TYPES OF PU LOCATIONS:
Commercial Facility - Pickup location provides a loading dock with a ramp and forklift. Shipper is held responsible for accepting containers, loading and securing cargo in containers.
Residential Location/Limited Access - THE SERVICE MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE. No ramp is available. Limited access. Shipper is held responsible for accepting containers, loading and securing cargo in containers.
Ocean Freight Only - Can be offered to professional international transportation companies only (i.e. licensed freight forwarders, NVOCCs and Customs Brokers). Shipper is held responsible for obtaining containers from Steam Ship Lines Containers Yard (SSLs CY), proper filing of ship documents directly to SSLs, THC, roll-overs (if any) and any other charges other than ocean freight
STUFFING METHODS:
A 'live load' means that the trucker will bring the container to your location and wait while you load the container. Free loading time may vary from one to two hours. If you exceed the free time limit, then you will pay approximately $75 per hour for each additional hour of loading time.
A 'drop and pick' means that trucker leaves the container at your location for several days. The 'drop and pick' normally costs twice as much as a 'live load', but has the advantage that shipper can take a time in loading and securing commodity in the container. If you load a container near the seaport or container yard, the cost for the 'drop and pick' is often not much more than a 'live load'; that cost might be worth it to be able to take your time loading. However, if you locate a good distance from the port it is possible that a 'live load' will be the only option available.
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF OUR FCL SEA FREIGHT SERVICE:
SHIPPING HOUSEHOLD GOODS (HHG)/LIMITED ACCESSES: This price quote is for cargo loaded at a commercial facility that provides a loading dock with ramp and forklift. It may not apply on shipping HHG and/or from locations with limited accesses.
Prices for shipping HHG and/or from locations with limited accesses must be reconfirmed upon a booking request and are subject to surcharges.
On HHG ocean freight shipments we recommend considering the alternative – our Economy LCL Sea Freight Service. I.e. shipping boxed, crated and/or palletized cargo from or to US. Refer to this link for details.
SHIPPING MOTOR VEHICLES FROM THE USA (motorized vehicle that requires DMV - U.S. Department of Motor Vehicles registration. I.e. autos, motorcycles, mopeds, jet skis, ATV’s etc): You cannot use this online form on shipping vehicles in containers. We do not ship cars to US as well.
If you ship motor vehicles then refer to this web page -- SHIPPING VEHICLES FROM THE USA IN CONTAINERS & RO-RO. Currently we do not offer service on shipping containers, which contain vehicles mixed with other kind of cargo.
LOADING AND SECURING CARGO IN SEA FREIGHT CONTAINERS: Unlike with an international moving company, with us (international transportation company) shipper is held responsible on loading, securing and sealing cargo in containers. Refer to this link.
PAYMENTS: If it is your first shipment with us, then we require to pay a security deposit. Typically this deposit is equal to 75% of the total price in our sea freight quote to you. Refer to our FCL payments web page. Upon your payment we will email you a confirmation on receipt of the deposit. Consider our email a receipt on your payment. This deposit will apply to the final cost of your shipment. Review our return policy. Customers who already have an account with us do not have to pay a security deposit. They wait for our e-mail with shipping instructions and after that for our final invoice.
As U.S. Freight Forwarder (an international transportation company but an international moving company) we offer FCL service under B/Ls from different carriers (NVOCC and VOCC) for shipping cargo FOB/vessel. FOB/vessel in general means that all destination charges (i.e. taxes and duties, customs, port and carrier’s destination agent charges, storage, demurrage if any etc) collect for account of consignee (importer of records). You may read more about destination charges in this link.
IMPORTANT! U.S. Customs is currently phasing-in a NO DOCUMENTS, NO LOAD procedure for ALL EXPORTS from the USA. Presentation of late documentation could result in your cargo not being loaded and/or penalties and fines. In some ports, Customs has begun enforcing this policy. Ocean carriers require at least 2 (two) business days to process documents to meet the currently required deadline of 48 hours prior to vessel sailing. Cargo rolled by the carrier for failure to comply will be rolled to a later vessel at the shipper's expense!
